Trae sober

Trae is my son, you'll notice I use my children as portrait studies a lot. It helps me to experience shooting children of all ages and stages to learn how to interact with them to get the best shots....the ones that show their true personality.

Aside from these first two images, Trae was sober for this entire shoot. I got the idea for a rough-and-tumble shoot as soon as he scraped his head up on the gravel. The school boy look combined with the scraped head appealed to me, and his sober expression was just the look I was going for. We were at the park, so he wasn't exactly thrilled with having his picture taken, but the results are exactly what I had in mind.
